Meet the Staff – Thomas Hoover

Given your previous experience in the industry, how do you think Fuel Me will affect the industry for years to come?

Fuel Me is the only “State of the Art” Technology in the Petroleum Industry. The current paper and pencil tracking, luck, significant market swings and opaque supply chains are part of today’s status quo, resulting in large amounts of wasted energy, materials, revenue and time. Accelerated in part by the long-term shutdown of international and regional travel by COVID-19, companies that design and build products (i.e., Fuel Me) have rapidly adopt cloud-based technologies to aggregate, intelligently transform, and contextually present a product and process data from initial transactions and throughout their supply chain process. This ubiquitous stream of data and the intelligent algorithms crunching it will enable companies utilizing the Fuel Me platform to continuously optimize towards higher levels of output/real-time data – reducing overall waste in time and revenue spend up to 30% or more.

Additionally, with the transition to “Alternative Fuels”, and the elimination of their carbon footprint. The creation of the Fuel Me platform is sustainable long into the future and is transactionally built to push through a far-reaching energy transformation that significantly reduces the world’s carbon emissions. We’ll see a diversity of new technologies aimed at both reducing and removing the world’s emissions – unleashing a wave of innovation to compare with the industrial and digital Revolutions of the past. The petrol engine vehicle isn’t quite done, but its years of dominance on our roads are numbered. Fuel Me is the Current and Future Technology of the industry.

What is your favorite thing about Fuel Me?

Most definitely my fellow employees. They all strive as a “Team” for the “excellence/betterment” of the organization as a whole. We all work as one unified “Customer Service Group” to service our external and internal customers/partners.

What advice do you have for prospective Fuel Me clients?

Fuel Me is a game-changer in our industry. The customer has never had the opportunity to acquire “Real-Time” data in their business at a moment’s notice. Now the industry, utilizing Fuel Me, can make decisions that will provide immediate impact to their bottom line. Currently, they must wait weeks and months to understand what is occurring as fuel prices continue to fluctuate impacting their P&L, plus not having the ability to close out months end reporting. Basically, they are flying blind until this data is acquired. The Fuel Me platform is far reaching into their company from the time the fuel is put into their vehicle or tanks until the CFO reviews the end of the month’s closing statements.

How does Fuel Me stay involved outside of the Fuel Industry?

Fuel Me is a new company that targets the transactional side of the petroleum industry within the US market. Fuel Me will need to focus on strategic options outside its realm so that the company can maintain its sustainable growth. Fuel Me is competing in a fragmented market that has a low level of industry attractiveness. We need to utilize its competitive advantage in brand building to position itself in this crowded market. The company has successfully built a reputable brand reputation and financial capital throughout its first year of operation. Our involvement outside the fuel industry would include our ability to strategically align ourselves with the various global entities developing into the Alternative Fuels space both from a US geographical area into the European market.

What is your Favorite activity to do in your free time?

In my free time I prefer to spend time with my wife of 31 years either walking on the beach near my home in South Carolina, traveling the country, or just checking out “small town” America locally.

What is one thing you want everyone to know about you?

It is difficult for me to summarize what I’d love for people to know about me in one sentence, but I would like people to know I am a faith-filled man who sticks to my core values of honesty, integrity, courageousness, and my willingness to help others.

What is your favorite line from a movie?

“I’ll Be Back” Arnold Schwarzenegger

In my Sales career, I never took “NO” for an answer and would be back with the customer within a few months after I had completed additional due diligence and provided a better direction.

I always looked at it as a “Challenge” if a customer turned me down.

If Hollywood made a movie about, who would be cast to play your character?

Tom Hanks

Reasoning, Hanks only plays good guys these days: principled heroes who do the right thing and naturally take charge, whether it’s leading troops into battle or toys on a rescue mission, landing an out-of-control plane or repelling Somali pirates. Like his co-stars, we follow him because we trust him. In a 2013 poll, he was voted “most trusted person in America”.

And in his latest movie, as a liberal-minded civil war veteran, who reads out the newspapers to information-starved Texans. He finds an orphaned girl abducted by Native Americans. You just know he’ll take her under his wing and steadily develop a paternal bond that speaks to the better person in all of us.

I have mentored many Sales Reps in my career that still contact me today “Thanking Me” for educating them in our industry with kindness, patience and demand for success.
